Fireside chats

During the so-called ‘Fireside chats’ at the beautiful Prins Hendriksoord, we will discuss specific and contemporary topics with a small group from different disciplines. These discussions will take place in a confidential and homely atmosphere, where the Chatham House Rules apply.

State of FP&A with Gordon Toole

The last 10 years Gordon Toole led FP&A at Philips. What are the biggest movements he has seen? What does he see as the big drivers of change for the coming five to ten years? What does he expect from AI? Is it the biggest game changers ever or is there more nuance to the story your suppliers and consultants try to sell you? How do we avoid more regulations and uncertainty to create a finance function that stifles innovation? As finance becomes more and more specialized, do we have enough experienced generalist?

What did Gordon learn from crises he experienced at Philips, think for instance the night time breathing machine crisis. What did he learn from these crises and how dit it make him grow as a leader? But also, what did he learn you need to prepare culturally and structurally with your finance team for crises like these? And what advice does he have from there for building your fnance function out into the future? After Gordon his introduction we share experiences and views and learn from eachother.
