Ritchy Drost werd op 27-jarige leeftijd VP Finance en op zijn 31ste CFO bij UPC Nederland. Jarenlang stond hij in de bekende Goudhaantjes-lijst van MT/Sprout. Twintig jaar nadat hij CFO werd bij UPC, is hij nu CFO van VodafoneZiggo – met tussendoor vijf jaar als CFO van de Europese divisie van Liberty Global.

Bij een van de meest zichtbare bedrijven van Nederland navigeerde hij door vele watertjes: overnames, joint ventures en de impact van ontwikkelingen bij moederbedrijven Vodafone en Liberty Global. Hoe blijft hij al die jaren overeind aan de top? Wat is het geheim van zijn succes? En met de kennis van vandaag: wat zou hij anders aanpakken?

In deze sessie bespreken we de keuzes die Ritchy heeft gemaakt in zijn carrière en vertalen we die naar de beslissingen die wij vandaag nemen en morgen verwachten te maken.

In Conversation with: Ritchy Drost
Ritchy Drost became VP Finance at the age of 27 and was appointed CFO of UPC Netherlands at just 31. For years, he was listed among the “Golden Boys” by MT/Sprout. Now, two decades after becoming CFO at UPC, he serves as CFO of VodafoneZiggo – with five years in between as CFO of Liberty Global’s European division.

At one of the most visible companies in the Netherlands, Ritchy has navigated complex terrain: acquisitions, joint ventures, and the influence of shifting dynamics at parent companies Vodafone and Liberty Global. How has he managed to remain at the top all these years? What’s the secret to his success? And with everything he knows now – what would he do differently?
